Easy to use. sharpVoice software is simple to install, quick to
configure, and easy to use. Anyone who can use instant messaging software will
find sharpVoice familiar and intuitive.
Crystal clear voice quality. Let’s face it, if a conversation
isn’t clear, very little else matters. That’s why the sharpVoice Network
uses a proprietary voice transport technology to ensure the clearest
conversations even over dial-up connections.
Talk to more people. sharpVoice PC-to-Phone Services allows you to
call people on their telephones as well as their computers. Working with our
calling card partners we are able to offer great rates for long distance
PC-to-Phone calls.
Voice Conferencing ability. Connect to multiple people and expand your
conversation. Each participant in a sharpVoice call can conference in
additional parties.
Peer-to-Peer connections. Unlike many Voice over Internet protocol (VoIP)
programs, the sharpVoice Client works Peer-to-Peer without a central
server. This means that there does not have to be an expensive server running
for people to communicate.
Lower delay times. Because connections are Peer-to-Peer, the delay
between a person speaking and the other person hearing it is significantly
reduced.
Call people using the buddy list. Rather than having to know technical
information about people you want to talk to in order to call them, you can
just add their names to your buddy list and connect with the click of a button.
The buddy is maintained on the server so if you move the software to a new PC,
your buddy list moves with you.
Record and play back conversations. Record conversation for later
listening.
Reliable and well-tested. sharpVoice has been in use since 1999 and has
been successfully used on tens of thousands of computers.
Highly Compatible. The sharpVoice Client can run on
virtually any Microsoft Windows™ computer including Windows
95/NT/98/ME/XP/2000/2003. It is less than 1 MB in size and uses very little
system resources. It is compatible with all major sound cards.
Firewall Friendly. The sharpVoice Client is specifically
designed to work well behind firewalls. It has a network configuration wizard
that helps users configure and test their firewall settings. The voice
component only requires a single network port that can be configured on a
person-by-person basis. This allows multiple people to accept calls behind a
firewall even if they only have one publicly-accessible Internet address. It
also supports the use of HTTP Proxy servers.
Network Friendly. sharpVoice calls use very little network
bandwidth compared to other Voice over IP solutions. We use a proprietary
combination of a highly-efficient packet streaming with automatic silence
detection to minimize network bandwidth usage.
